Microsoft welcomes the Intel-developed Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT), a plug-in enhancement for Microsoft System Management Server (SMS) 2003. The add-on allows SMS 2003 to take advantage of the advanced hardware-based system management capabilities of Intel® AMT, which are built into PCs with Intel® vPro™ technology.
SMS 2003 administrators can now inventory assets more accurately, control desktop PCs, and improve compliance with corporate policies when the PC is powered off or the operating system is unavailable. These capabilities will help SMS 2003 administrators reduce PC lifecycle costs through even greater manageability and control of their hardware computing environment.
