Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 5 (SMS 2.0 SP5) provides support for Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003, as does Service Pack 4 (SP4) with additional Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) updates, or "hotfixes." If you meet the minimum requirements, you can deploy Windows Server 2003 within your existing Systems Management Server site, as both an SMS system role and client.
In order to determine which Systems Management Server service pack you are running, refer to Determining Your SMS Version.
Microsoft supports Windows Server 2003 as a client or server with SMS 2.0 SP4 and 5. Note the following exceptions:
| • | SMS 1.2, whether client or server, does not support Windows Server 2003. |
| • | SMS 2.0 SP3, whether client or server, does not support Windows Server 2003. |
For more information, refer to Hotfixes for SMS 2.0 and Windows Server 2003 Environments in the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the Product Support Services site.
