Learn how Microsoft's People-Ready Process vision aims at driving Business Process Management into the mainstream.
One of the critical factors that prevent BPM from achieving broad adoption in enterprises is that it has been focused traditionally on a "niche" group of people, and as a result it has failed to deliver value to the vast majority of information workers. Microsoft's People-Ready Process vision aims at making BPM a central part of the way people work, with tools that are available to all and easy to use. Microsoft wants to make sure that BPM initiatives deliver value all the way to people’s desktops by ensuring that business processes are integrated into their Office experience. We want organizations to be able to build sophisticated workflows, and also want information workers to be empowered with readily usable BPM features that work out of the box. We believe that by bringing BPM directly to Microsoft Outlook, Office SharePoint Server, and other Office applications, by leveraging the modeling capabilities of our widely available and easy to use Visio products, and by helping organizations deliver process-centric Office Business Applications, we will help BPM out of its current “niche” state and into the mainstream.
