In a pilot set up by the Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs (a.k.a. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), XML Web services are used to deploy and update applications onto the clients of the outpost operations Web services are also used to retrieve information from disparate databases for the verification of personal details ofvisa and passport applicants. The solution addresses many security and maintenance concerns and ensures that documents are issued quickly, securely and reliably.
