Intel Releases New Telephony Interface Manager for Microsoft® Speech Server 2004 R2

Intel has just released Intel Netmerge® Call Manager v1.2, which is telephony interface management (TIM) software that supports the new Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2 Standard and Enterprise Editions. Microsoft and Intel have worked together closely to deliver this cutting-edge telephony platform, which simplifies the construction and integration of speech into new or existing Web Service applications. The platform includes everything needed to speech-enable applications easily, allowing developers to focus on speech application design and flow by shielding them from telephony resource management tasks.

Call Manager v1.2 uses an Internet software and license fulfillment model, which requires no physical stocking or related logistical coordination. The new release adds ASR and TTS support for French-Canadian and North American Spanish languages. Intel is offering a free upgrade to v1.2 to customers that have purchased v1.0 or v1.1.

Intel and Microsoft have been working together since 2002 on designing, developing, and testing a speech platform and plan to continue to enhance their joint effort to help developers create speech applications easily and with confidence.
