| Q. | What's the significance of the prompt engine included with Speech Server? |
| A. | The prompt engine is a core component and unique feature of Speech Server. It takes the text input used to specify the prompts for a speech application and produces speech output by concatenating existing recordings of words and phrases that match the text input. So unlike with other speech platforms it's not necessary to separately record each and every single prompt used by your application. Instead, you can record a sub-set of the total number of prompts, and you can direct the prompt engine to construct the remaining prompts automatically. This results in tremendous savings in both time and money, during both development and maintenance phases. |
