Multi Consult Milano

Multi Consult Milano (MCM) creates enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for over 1000 clients in the transport and logistics field. Noting the market trend away from IBM AS/400, iSeries, and IBM System and toward Microsoft® software, MCM decided to extend its application, written in 400,000 lines of RPG and CL code over more than 10 years, to offer a version for architecture based on the Windows® operating system. By moving MCM solutions to the Windows operating system, the MCM staff and its new customers can take advantage of the powerful Windows user interface and integration with other Windows software.

ADC Austin

The Java/iSeries solution was painfully slow—“some queries seemed to take forever,” said a Foundation executive—and the nightly batch run could drag on for 10 hours, causing the system to be unavailable to employees during the next day. ADC Austin migrated the solution logic to C++ code on the Windows Server® 2003 operating system and Microsoft SQL Server™ 2005 database software, using the Computer Associates Plex tool and its own ADC Migration Studio. Batch job time cut by 90 percent; CPU headroom increased to 90 percent; Uptime increased from 95 to 100 percent; Management time cut from hours to minutes; Costs cut by 87 percent.
