 | In the late 1990s, Miraflores was experiencing an increasing amount of crime at all levels. The citizens of this affluent metropolitan district of Lima, Peru, had had enough—and looked to their mayor to do something. The mayor opted to create a new crime-reporting system based on Voxiva CitizenNetTM, a public safety software solution offered as a hosted service by Voxiva. Running on the Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 operating system and taking advantage of the cost-effective Service Provider Licensing Agreement, Voxiva CitizenNetTM provides a cost-effective solution that offers multiple channels through which citizens can contact police to alert them of criminal activities. The authorities can respond promptly and aggressively to protect Miraflores’ citizens. As a result, crime in Miraflores is 30 percent lower at the end of 2005 than it had been five years earlier. |
