We have 3 large active technical communities in Sri Lanka. These technical communities are a blend of gurus, geeks, peers and greenhorns who can help everybody to stay on top in the technical arena.


Sri Lanka .NET Forum

Currently with over 4500 registered members it is on a journey to reach thousands more developers around the country. The member base is an exemplary  good mix of developers, managers, IT decision makers, university and school students etc.
Today, .NET Forum’s job board has become the first place where many companies search for .NET developers. There have been many success stories on developers getting better offers and better technical positions in the industry.

Sri Lanka IT Pro Forum

Sri Lanka IT Pro Forum gives the opportunity to techies who work on Microsoft Infrastructure tools and technologies. This community already has over 700 registered members. Exchange Server, ISA Server, Windows Server, Live Communication Server etc are in the top among the many technologies discussed in this forum's monthly meeting.

SQL Server Universe

SQL Server Universe was started much later than the rest but it has already grown to a member list of 400. Microsoft SQL Server is the key technology focus in this group.

Microsoft Student Champs

Student champs are a group of university students who are passionate about Microsoft Technologies. Currently there are over 50 registered champs and 4 of them are recognized as Student Ambassadors.  As a part of their activities they host tech talks within the university they are representing and also in the other universities.

Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) are exceptional technical community leaders from around the world who are awarded for voluntarily sharing their high quality, real world expertise in offline and online technical communities. Microsoft MVPs are a highly select group of experts that represents the technical community’s best and brightest, and they share a deep commitment to community and a willingness to help others. Through various events in the MVP program Microsoft enables MVPs to meet each other from across the globe along with industry experts in various area so that they can stay up to date with happenings around the world, which will help MVPs to stay ahead in the pack.


MVPs represent a broad spectrum of Microsoft product users. They occupy many different professions including accountants, teachers, artists, engineers and technologists. MVPs reside in over 90 countries, represent 30 different languages, and cover more than 90 Microsoft technologies.


MVPs tend to be early adopters of new technology and actively communicate their experiences to millions of other technology users. Through their extensive community activity, MVPs help others solve problems and discover new capabilities, helping people get the maximum value from their technology.


Each year, the technical community’s best and brightest are awarded as Microsoft MVPs. As of now we have 8 Sri Lankan MVPs.
