Winners at the Microsoft Quality Partners 2008 Awards Ceremony

Colombo, 8th October 2008 – Microsoft Sri Lanka announced the winners of its annual partner awards at the ceremony held last night at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo. The awards night, attended by over 200 partners who gathered to celebrate their outstanding achievements over the past twelve months, was designed not only to recognize and reward the partners, but also to celebrate and further strengthen Microsoft’s relationship with them.

“Good partnerships work on mutual respect for each other and equalization is needed. ‘I need you and you need me’ – that’s the concept. Good partnerships cannot have a superior partner and an inferior partner; both have got to be equal and is based on the equality concept. Partnerships that flourish like a good marriage come from understanding and trust. A bit of give and a bit of take.” Said Mr. Hemaka Amarasuriya, Chairman Singer Sri Lanka Ltd., who delivered an inspirational key note speech on the importance of partners in this competitive business world. He was joined by Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne, Country Manager of Microsoft Sri Lanka and Pubudu Basnayake, Small Mid Market Sales & Partner Lead of Microsoft Sri Lanka who together presented the 12 awards.

The glamorous evening titled as the "Oscars of the Partner Industry", saw Microsoft’s extensive partner network being recognized for their performance during the year with awards ranging from Best Managed Partner which was awarded to Zillione Systems Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, Best ‘Attach at Source’ COEM Partner won by PC House (Pvt) Ltd, Best Partner Server Sales won by Millennium IT (Pvt) Ltd, Best Partner Breadth awarded to Open Systems Integrators (Pvt) Ltd, Best Distributor won by Tech Distribution Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Best Partner Maldives awarded to Grayscale (Pvt) Ltd and Best Microsoft Learning Partner of the Year going out to Ceylinco  NetAssist (Pvt) Ltd.

A range of Special Awards were also in store for the partners which saw Raffles Solutions (Pvt) Ltd winning for Microsoft Dynamics and Aklo Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd for Best Competitive Win Back. In addition, Special Recognition Awards were also given out to Visual Computing Systems (Pvt) Ltd for their laudable contribution towards breadth sales and to outgoing distributor Ingram Micro Lanka (Pvt) Ltd for the services they have rendered in the past in contribution towards helping Microsoft Sri Lanka achieve their shared business goals and aspirations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sriyan De Silva Wijeyeratne, Country Manager of Microsoft Sri Lanka said, “Microsoft is a case study in how meaningful partnerships can drive better business results – we have proven this across the world and I am glad, that Sri Lanka too is proving to be one such partner success story.
