Microsoft Names Trident its Second Distributor for Sri Lanka and Maldives

Microsoft Sri Lanka was delighted to announce the appointment of Trident as its Second Distributor for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Having already established its credentials as the sole distributor for HP ,IBM and Lenovo PC and Notebook range in Sri Lanka with an over 300 partner network, for the last Ten years, Trident’s strength will add significant value to Microsoft’s business in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Welcoming Trident onboard was a strategic decision as the move itself is expected to usher in greater competitiveness within Microsoft’s partner community, with benefits eventually cascading down to the consumer. Sriyan de Silva Wijeyratne, Country Manager of Microsoft Sri Lanka, said: “We are delighted to welcome Trident onboard as only our Second Distributor for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Established in 1999, Trident Corporation Pvt. Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Singapore-based Thakral Group. The group operates in 34 countries and has a diversified and balanced mix of business interests in these countries. In Sri Lanka, Trident will bring its established leadership in the IT distribution field to bear on its partnership with Microsoft. Trident will be in a position to extend a wide gamut of Microsoft related services to clients in the Microsoft partner network and fulfil the increasing demand for such offerings. Trident, along with the existing Microsoft distributor, will execute the Breadth Partner Trainings - both Sales and Technical - through programmes according to Microsoft’s guidelines. Furthermore, they will play a major role in rendering the Breadth Partner Ecosystem a healthier one. Trident is expected to ably fulfil this and many more value additions as a distributor of Microsoft.
