Support & TrainingGPX—What is it and why is it cool?
Streets & Trips lets you import (and export) GPS navigation data—such
as waypoints, routes and route points, breadcrumb trails and pushpin collections—for use in your travel planning. The data is stored in a special file called GPX—a file format (.gpx) for recording navigation data. Streets & Trips can import other formats such as .csv and .xls, but this article focuses on GPX.
![]() Note: Users of Streets & Trips 2010 (and later) can show or hide pushpin sets, so pushpins may be excluded from the GPX export by hiding the collection. Only visible pushpins are included in the GPX export.
Create GPX fileTo create a GPX file of your Streets & Trips route, click on the Data menu, and then click Export to GPX file. The GPX file is now saved to your PC and ready for use. ![]() Note: Streets & Trips can only export GPX files—not .csv, .xls or other file formats.
Import GPX fileTo import a GPX file into Streets & Trips, click on the Data menu, and then click Import GPX file.
The route, trail, waypoint, or pushpin information from your GPX file is mapped in Streets & Trips and ready for use. For more information and usage tips, please visit the Streets & Trips Team Blog. |
