Street & Trips has different types of maps to suit your needs
What kind of trip are you planning? Choose a map that gives the right type of information.
- Road map shows major and minor roads and highways, as well as cities, airports, railroads, bridges, and other places of interest. Use these for basic travel needs and planning.
- Political map shows city, county, state, and national boundaries and borders. These maps help when you're making an interstate or transcontinental trip.
- Terrain map shows the shape and elevation of an area. These are great maps for outdoor enthusiasts or vacationers.
- Perspective map for GPS users shows a stretched view of destinations as you approach. Use these on the road to help get your bearings as you go.
Now that you're familiar with the types of maps you can use, plan a route, and learn how to navigate.
Creating a route is easy. Here's how to do it:
- Select Route Planner from the
Standard toolbar.
- Enter your starting point in Type Place or Address and click
Add to route.
- Enter your destination Type Place or Address and click
Add to route.
- Click on More Options to set driving preferences or enter fuel costs, then click
OK.
- Click Get Directions.
Your route will display above the Map pane.

You can choose a map view to meet your needs and navigate the map by using the following tools on the Advanced toolbar.

- Click and drag the hand in the direction you want to shift the map.

Move the map a lot
