Touchpad: A built-in mouse

Your Surface Typing Cover has a touchpad that you can use like a mouse. You can use gestures on touchpad to do common tasks like right-click, left-click, scroll, and more.

Here's what you need to know about the touchpad:

Surface Typing Cover touchpads

All Surface Typing Covers have touchpads:

  • The left and right touchpad buttons are separated by a vertical line at the bottom of the touchpad and act like the left and right buttons on a mouse.
  • The touchpad buttons on Touch Cover, Type Cover 2, and Power Cover are flat and don’t move when you press them.
  • The touchpad buttons on Type Cover and Type Cover for Surface Pro 3 click when you press them.
