Founded in 2005, Administrator Pro is a Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner that provides IT services for small- and medium-sized businesses in Russia. Vitaly Bobrov, Co-Owner and Technical Director at Administrator Pro, and his colleagues were hearing from their customers that there was a real need to improve overall performance and productivity in their day-to-day business processes. At the same time, Administrator Pro noticed that its help desk and technical support business was not operating at capacity. By deploying the Windows® 7 Professional operating system, Administrator Pro helped its customers to make their existing hardware more robust and responsive, and boost productivity. Administrator Pro’s help desk operations now serve customers more rapidly.
For quite some time, Administrator Pro’s customers had been struggling with legacy hardware that could no longer support the speed at which their businesses needed to operate. Machines were extremely slow to boot up, resume after standby, or respond to user inquiries. Staff was kept waiting while sluggish systems crawled the network in search of commonly used files and applications.

Co-Owner and Technical Director, Administrator Pro
At the offices of Administrator Pro, the company’s dedicated help desk and technical support staff was finding it difficult to quickly resolve computer problems for their customers. It had become difficult and time-consuming to re-create the steps leading to a user’s system error, often taking days or weeks to sort out a resolution. Since help desk inquiries were taking longer to resolve, users at customer sites were left unproductive while waiting for a solution. Says Bobrov, “If IT doesn’t work, our customers are simply not able to do business.”
Administrator Pro knew that in order to speed up its customers’ business processes and increase the time-to-resolution (TTR) for help desk inquiries, it would have to find a robust yet cost-effective solution. It found that solution in Windows 7.
Administrator Pro found a solution for its customers’ dilemma – as well as its own – with Windows 7. Windows 7 delivers ease of use, speed, and efficiency, with features like faster boot-up time, easier search functions, and better problem resolution. According to Mike Nash, Vice President of Windows Product Management at Microsoft, Windows 7 “…is in every way a major effort in design, engineering, and innovation.”
Windows 7 was designed to provide a more solid PC experience for users. The performance of existing hardware and software is significantly more robust with Windows 7. System uptime is also improved. In addition, Windows 7 is compatible with Windows XP-based hardware and applications, so there is no need to upgrade an entire system to get the benefit of the new operating system. All this enables Administrator Pro’s customers to get the best value out of their existing technology investments.
Many of Administrator Pro’s customers do not have a budget to support specialized solutions, yet they need to ensure that their work and their business information are protected. The free Windows 7 Advanced Backup gives them peace of mind since they know they can now easily access and restore information in the event of unexpected data loss.
The new Windows 7 ReadyBoostTM feature keeps users productive throughout the day by improving system responsiveness. Now users wait less when starting up, shutting down, and resuming a PC from standby mode.
With Windows 7, Administrator Pro’s customers spend less time searching for information and more time doing business. Now they can find the record, email, or application they need – right from their desktops – almost instantly with Windows Desktop Search. It enables users to browse through their most current files, media clips, and even Web sites easily; just mousing over the task bar or an application icon renders a visual list of all recently used items.
The Windows 7 Libraries feature enables users to aggregate all files and applications related to a specific project into a single desktop window. The Aero® Enhancements help users arrange desktop windows side-by-side and minimize or maximize their windows with just a “Snap,” ”Peek,” or ”Shake” keystroke or a mouse gesture.
According to Bobrov, the productivity gains with Windows 7 are significant. “The ability to organize relevant information from the entire network in one place, and seeing it all with one click?” he asks. “That is amazing!”
Streamlining Help Desk Resolution
To help make Administrator Pro’s help desk more efficient and profitable, Bobrov and his team rely on Windows 7 Action Center, which offers powerful diagnostic and troubleshooting tools that let customers manage and resolve many IT issues themselves, without having to call for outside assistance. When a help desk call cannot be avoided however, the Windows 7 Problem Steps Recorder helps consultants resolve issues quickly by capturing actions resulting in computer problems and sending them to the Administrator Pro offices for resolution.
Cost-Effective Business Value
Overall, the solid PC experience, increased productivity, and more efficient issue resolution provided by Windows 7 have made a real impact for Administrator Pro. Says Bobrov, “Windows 7 helps our customers get the best of both worlds: significantly improved performance and productivity-enhancing features – all at a price that doesn’t overextend the available budget.”
Faster and more reliable: Windows 7 will help your organization use information technology to gain a competitive advantage in today’s new world of work. Your people will be able to be more productive anyway. You will be able to support your mobile work force with better access to shared data and collaboration tools. And your IT staff will have better tools and technologies to enhance corporate IT security, data protection, and more efficient deployment and management.
