Manage Tags

This page allows you to create new and manage existing tags. Each category can contain multiple tags. We recommend that you follow a standard naming convention within your organization to help you to track the tags easily.

You can promote your products to a wider audience by creating different types of tags. Microsoft Tag supports the following tag types:

·        URL - URL tags navigate your potential customers to a web site specified by you, for example, your product web site.

·        Free Text - Your potential customers receive a free text ad promoting your product. This text can contain more information about your product, or details of a promotional offer or scheme, or anything else that you want your potential customers to know.

·        vCard - Your potential customers receive your electronic business card.

·        Dialer - Your potential customers listen to a dialer advertisement promoting your product.

From this screen you can:

·        View Tags

·        Create Tags

·        Edit Tags

·        Manage Tags

View tags

You can select a category from the Category list and view the tags for that category. The tags appear in a table. By default, this table displays records of the existing tags for the "Main" category.

Create tags

You can create a tag by clicking the Create a Tag link. Since a category is an organized set of tags, you need to create a category before you can create a tag. If you have not created any category, you can create tags in the "Main" category.

The fields on this page change according to the Tag Type you select.

To create a tag:

·        Enter the tag details: Select the Tag Type for the selected category and enter the Tag Title, Tag Notes, Start Date, and End Date. Enter the other fields specific to the selected tag type. For details on creating each tag type, see the help of that tag type.

·        Reset: If you want to clear the details you have entered, click Reset. All the fields are reset to their default values.

Edit a tag

Click the Edit icon to edit a tag. The Manage Tags page changes according to the tag type you are editing. All the fields in the Edit a Tag section are similar to the fields in the Create a Tag section. The only difference is that the fields are set to the values you had entered while creating the tag.

To edit a tag:

·        Edit the details: Edit the Tag Notes, Start Date, and End Date. Enter the other fields specific to the selected tag type. For details on editing each tag type, see the help for that tag type.

·        If you want to clear the details you have entered, click Reset. All the fields are reset to their default values.

NOTE: Once a tag is created, you cannot edit the tag type.

·         Filter the tags: You can filter tags based on Title, Type, Note, Status, Start Date, or End Date. Select a parameter in the Filter tags by list box and click Go. Depending on your selection, the next field gets updated.

o   For Title, Type and Note, the with text box appears. In the with text box, type alpha-numeric text that appears anywhere in the title, type or note of the tags you want to filter, and click Go.
NOTE: The with text box is NOT case-sensitive.

o   For Status, you can select Active, Paused, Blocked, or Frozen from the adjacent list box, and click Go. Depending on your selection, only the active, paused, blocked or frozen tags get listed in the table.
