WHEA - Windows Hardware Error Architecture

Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) 提供了一個共同的基本結構用於處理硬體錯誤於 Windows 平台。WHEA 可經由更完整的錯誤報告來減少嚴重硬體錯誤的主要回復時間，同時經由有效的作業系統硬體錯誤回復與硬體狀況的監控來降低因硬體錯誤所引起的系統當機。WHEA 讓 Windows 作業系統有效的利用現有的與新的硬體錯誤標準，像是 Itanium Machine Check Architecture (MCA) 以及 PCI Express Advance Error Reporting (AER)。

WHEA 提供：

WHEA 一開始的建置主要針對平台硬體裝置，包括處理器、記憶體、快取記憶體以及系統連接裝置像是 PCI、PCI-X 以及 PCI Express。存在於它們各自的裝置驅動程式之下的週邊裝置錯誤。
