The Microsoft® Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) delivers end-to-end guidance for efficient planning, building, testing, and deploying Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional, Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition, and Microsoft® Office Professional Edition 2003. This accelerator helps information technology (IT) professionals realize a quick return on investment while also setting new standards for reliability, performance, security, and ease of use.
The BDD solution contains guidance, sample templates, and technology files (such as scripts and configuration files). It also requires software that will be downloaded from the Internet as well as media that you will need to provide. The solution's documentation discusses these topics in detail. The focus of this solution is on computer deployment rather than the leveraged integration that can be achieved on the platform by combining computers and domains. This solution supports deploying computers in a Microsoft® Windows NT® Server 4.0, Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server, or Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 domain.
