Installing or Removing IPv6 (IIS 6.0)
When you initially install IPv6 on a computer in your network, be sure to install it first in a test environment so that you can configure and test the IPv6 protocol before installing it in your production environment. For more information about setting up a test lab, including typical test lab tasks and a sample infrastructure, see Setting up an IPv6 test lab in Help and Support Center for Windows Server 2003.
To install IPv6
After you install the IPv6 protocol, IIS automatically supports IPv6 on your Web server. However, if a Web site is already running when you install IPv6, you must restart IIS before the site begins listening for IPv6 requests. Sites that you create after you enable IPv6 support automatically listen for IPv6.
For more information about how to install the IPv6 network protocol stack, see IP version 6 in Help and Support Center for Windows Server 2003. For information about restarting IIS, see Restarting IIS.
