Performance Objects
Data contained in Windows Server 2003 performance objects is used when monitoring Exchange Server 2003 performance. This data is collected from components in the server and is monitored in Windows Server 2003 System Monitor and Performance Logs and Alerts. As a component functions in your system, it generates performance data. The data is formulated into performance objects that are typically named for the component generating the data.
A range of performance objects is built into the Windows Server 2003 operating system and typically corresponds to the major hardware components such as memory and processors. Applications such as Exchange install their own performance objects to be monitored with System Monitor.
