As part of the 2008 Winter Scripting Games the Script Center is profiling competitors who recorded a perfect score in the 2007 Scripting Games. Here, in his own words, is a little something about Arnaud Petitjean, who received a perfect score in the Windows PowerShell Advanced division.

I’m a French PowerShell guy who lives in Southwest France near Bordeaux (you know, the famous French Wine ;-)). I’m 33 years old, I’m married, and I have a very beautiful young daughter. I have been passionate about computer science since I was 10 years old, and have a professional background of about 10 years in system administration, essentially in the Microsoft environment. I began work as an Exchange administrator, and, at the same time, discovered Windows NT. After being responsible for the operations of a very large park of servers, I’m now in charge of the system design and architecture in my company. My past caused me to confront administration tasks with automation very early. I started with batch and Visual Basic, followed by Kixtart, VBScript, Monad, and, now, the marvelous Windows PowerShell!
When I discovered Monad for the first time I understood very quickly that it would change the life of many system administrators, including mine! Therefore, I decided to take the moving train and I never regretted it; quite the contrary! With PowerShell scripting becomes much more productive than it ever was with any other scripting language.
I’m also very interested in the virtualization world. It’s simple: each machine I touch becomes a virtual one, even the laptops! And even in this world PowerShell has a role to play. Both Microsoft and VMware have given us cmdlets to manage their products.
I’m also one of the founding members of the French Windows PowerShell Community at http://www.powershell-scripting.com, where you can find tutorials, news, a scripting repository and a live forum. Sometime we organize scripting contests where is it possible to win books. Speaking of books, my (French) PowerShell book will be available in February 2008. Moreover, I had the chance in October 2008 to become a Microsoft Windows PowerShell MVP (Admin Frameworks) given my past work with the community. Here is a link to my MVP profile: https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Arnaud.Petitjean.
To finish, as I was a lucky winner of a Doctor Scripto bubblehead doll last year, I wanted to tell you that my Doctor Scripto has left my house to go to the beach (Lanton Beach) and I was clever enough to cross his road this week end. Therefore, I took some pictures of him; he seems to be healthy and, as far as I know, he’s preparing a cruise although he refuses to tell me his destination. Perhaps he misses America and his family The Scripting Guys ….
