In Triple Word Scramble competitors must unscramble a string of letters and extract the names of a VBScript function; a Windows PowerShell cmdlet; and a Perl function.
Note. The Sudden Death Challenge is a separate competition from the main Scripting Games and Scripting Games events; although anyone can enter the Sudden Death Challenge, it’s primarily designed for those people who manage to breeze through the main Scripting Games events in a day or two. For the final event in our Sudden Death Challenge we decided to give you a break. You don’t have to write a script or reference an SDK in order to complete this last test; instead, all you have to do is unscramble the following set of letters:
.CSRIIEHRRTOENSWWPOCTIHPT-T
And what are you supposed to end up with when you unscramble these letters? You should end up with three things:
| • | The name of a VBScript function |
| • | The name of a Windows PowerShell cmdlet |
| • | The name of a Perl function |
Which functions and cmdlet should you end up with? Well, we can’t tell you that; that would spoil all the fun. About the best we can do is tell you that these two functions, and the PowerShell cmdlet, all perform the same general task. And what is that task? Sorry, but we can’t tell you that, either. That just wouldn’t be … write.
