Since stand-alone computers are not part of Active Directory, group policies do not apply to them. To view and edit a local security policy; 1. | Log on to the computer with administrative rights. | 2. | Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Local Security Policy. This opens the Local Security Settings console. | 3. | Open the items in the tree to find the policy that is to be changed. | 4. | Double-click the policy, make the change, and then click OK. | 5. | Close the Local Security Policy Settings console. |
