Management Architecture Blueprint

Published: March 31, 2005

This blueprint is written for enterprise architects working in the area of systems administration and management. Other audiences may find the Architecture Blueprints useful in understanding the scope, capabilities, and impact of an enterprise-class management architecture. The services and processes that facilitate operations in an IT environment provide the basis for understanding the service management capabilities and requirements of an organization. This blueprint illustrates that simply having operations-oriented services does not adequately address the management issues being faced by many organizations today. The key to an effective management architecture is the integration of service management solutions and integrated operational processes. Through the use of the operational guidance provided for each service and the integrated management-oriented services, the management architecture provides a foundation for managing the various Microsoft solutions that are deployed in the different scenarios.
