Storage Architecture Blueprint

Published: March 31, 2005

This blueprint is written for enterprise architects responsible for storage design. The guidance provided is directly related to the details provided in the Storage Devices Blueprint, and the reader of this blueprint is expected to have an understanding of those technical details. However, it is not necessary for the service level expert to understand the enterprise level discussions and decisions presented in this blueprint. The storage architecture designs presented in this blueprint provide a starting point for the design of an architecture that can support your business requirements in the real world. The architecture has been proven in the test labs and is known to support all the services within scope. It is planned that future enhancements to the reference architecture will detail additional services that use this architecture to provide their storage requirements. In addition, future releases will provide new scenarios that will integrate into this architecture and expand it.
