Who Should Read This Guide

This guide is written for information technology (IT) professionals who are involved in the operations phase of implementing an enterprise-class messaging system based on Exchange Server 2003. These professionals include consultants, system architects, and information technology (IT) workers who are responsible for the operation of applications or development, deployment, and operation of IT infrastructure.

This guide provides a collection of links and references to the existing operations guidance that is relevant and useful to professionals responsible for deploying and operating an enterprise-class messaging infrastructure. The Messaging Services Implementation Guides are designed around a number of products and services from Microsoft, including Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the Active Directory directory service, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000, and Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. The guides also use products and services of partners such as CISCO Systems, CommVault Systems, Brightmail, and Symantec. This operations guide provides links to the product operations guidance provided by the respective product owners it is not the purpose of this guide to provide any product operations guidance.
