ITC Viner Hand™ is an informal script face that is based on the handwriting of British designer John Viner. Viner learned the craft of brush lettering during the late 1940s while he was working at a firm that produced posters for the Gaumont and Odeon cinema circuits. After serving in the Royal Air Force, he moved to London and worked as a lettering and general artist in print studios which produced artwork for major advertising agencies. Released in 1996, ITC Viner Hand has a relaxed rhythm typical of handwriting and lends a personal touch to computer generated copy.
