Castellar

Castellar

John Peters drew Castellar in 1957 for Monotype when phototypesetting was in its infancy, well before the first laser printer appeared. This typeface, designed for titles, cannot, unlike Monotype's Centaur, be used for anything else. If you print Castellar in too small a size on a laser printer with a resolution of 300 dots per inch, watch out! And if that doesn't discourage you from misusing the typeface, nothing will. Stay above 24 points, and you'll be safe.
These links will take you from the Microsoft web site to a Monotype web site. Monotype can provide many common Microsoft supplied fonts under license from Microsoft or under license from other font vendors.
