site, Max Kisman reveals that issue one of TRIBE
, a new bi-monthly periodical, from FontShop San Francisco, will be published in January 2001.
TRIBE will be mailed out to people currently in FontShop SF's database, so those outside the United States are unlikely to see it.
TRIBE's editor, Max Kisman, provided the following information about the new publication...
TRIBE will be a bi-monthly periodical, published by FontShop San Francisco,
USA and edited by Max Kisman. 12 pages 8.5"x 11" w/ 4 page gatefold, to be
launched December 2000. Definitive sizes, format and appearance may vary.
TRIBE interconnects in WEB, LOCAL, and TIMEZONE links between lifestyle,
typography and graphic design. As an integral part, THE REPUBLIC OF TYPE
offers a platform for independant typefoundries, distributed by FontShop
International, to express their typographic statements. Plus 2 pages of
type samples used in REPUBLIC OF TYPE, information about their designs and
designers, plus an overview of new FontFont releases and FontShop news.
WEB | the digital pages projected on our screens, guide us into a labyrinth
of questions and answers yet unknown.
WEB | each issue 6 interesting websites will be selected and presented with
brief caption-like comments on their production, design and intention. The
reproduced front pages of the sites, should invite readers for a real time
