May 16, 2007: Thames & Hudson and Mark Batty Publisher are pleased to announce that they have made a new Sales and Distribution Agency Agreement.
As of July 1, 2007, Thames & Hudson will be responsible for the sale and distribution of Mark Batty Publisher titles in all markets outside the US and Canada. Thames & Hudson (T&H) will sell and distribute both the back list and new Mark Batty Publisher (MBP) titles.
Founded in 1949, Thames & Hudson is one of the world’s premiere art and illustrated book publishers and distributors dedicated to producing and promoting books that are like “a museum without walls.”
Following nearly five years of publishing, the almost 50 titles in the MBP Spring 2007 catalog demonstrate how the list has evolved, keeping sight of the house’s original intention to publish books that showcase the visual power and innovation of contemporary culture in all its varied incarnations.
MBP people believe that the world has always been dominated by the visual; today the visual comes at us from more places than ever, and its dissemination is faster and more advanced every year. Books from Mark Batty Publisher capture this acceleration with creativity and innovation on the pages of each book: the result is something readers want to hold onto forever.
“The new relationship between T&H and MBP will bring MBP titles to a wider audience and in many more markets than has been possible up until now,” said Mark Batty, head of MBP. “T&H are a likeminded quality company who bring long sales and distribution experience that will greatly help MBP build on past successes.”
Jamie Camplin, Managing Director of T&H said, “MBP has a dynamic and interesting list; their titles are different, arresting, affordable and complement the current T&H offering.”
