Not an evil race of Star Trek baddies, Sylexiad is actually another effort to create a font to help people with various forms of Dyslexia. Unlike earlier attempts this one seems to have some research to support it's usefulness.

I suppose you can’t make this up. Police in Orange County, California are on the hunt for a bank robber they’ve dubbed the Wing-Ding bandit, so called due to the “font style in the robber's demand notes.” More discussion at typophile.

Franklin ITC released

First announced almost four years ago at ATypI Prague, the joint Font Bureau and ITC venture to reinvent ITC Franklin Gothic promised a 2005 release and 72 styles.
