System requirements

WEFT has been tested on Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. Full system requirements are:

• Disk space: 20MB free space
• Web browser: Internet Explorer 4 and later
• Platform: Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Users have reported that WEFT 3 works under Apple operating systems running the latest versions of some PC emulators.

Selecting the location link will download a complete version of WEFT 3.2 that includes database components.

Installation notes

Windows 2000

To install WEFT on Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you need to be a member of the 'Power User' or 'Administrators' user group. This is true when installing any software on Windows 2000 that provides COM services. Once an Administrator or Power User has installed WEFT, any user may use it.

Because of security restrictions, all users on Windows 2000 and Windows XP will share an installation of WEFT. Uninstalling WEFT on these systems will uninstall it for all users.

Windows 98, Windows Me

All users may install and use WEFT on these operating systems. Local security policies may prevent or enable users to install WEFT with more or less access rights. Please contact you local administrator or your help desk for assistance if needed.

Upgrading

You do not need to uninstall previous versions of WEFT before installing this version. However, WEFT should not be running when you install an updated version.
