Wireless connectivity in the Team GB lodge
We're creating a space in the Team GB's lodge for athletes. It's called the Windows XP webnest, and it will be a wireless-enabled space with full support for mobile computing, including Tablet PCs. There will also be a Microsoft Xbox gaming room with all the top titles.
While in the webnest, Team GB athletes will be able to read (and respond to) messages of support from around the world. You can participate by sending a message from this site.

We are supplying the British Olympic Association (BOA) with a special SharePoint for athletes, teams, coaches, doctors and the entire support community for athletes. Windows SharePoint Services enable anyone to create, author and administer team websites. With our Olympic SharePoint, athletes, teams and coaches will be able to collaborate more effectively, whether it's sharing training ideas, motivating each other, giving advice or sharing specialist knowledge.

Technology for the British Olympic Association
Microsoft and its Partner Lynx Technology have worked with the BOA to develop a solution that meets all of its needs today and in the future. The BOA is using the following Microsoft products to improve its level of service to athletes and team officials and improve internal and external communication via email and the Internet.
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
A feature of Windows Server 2003, Active Directory is helping the BOA to create a logical and hierarchical directory of objects on the network for users and administrators.

Exchange Server 2003 is an email messaging and collaboration server that will enable Team GB to communicate and work together using a variety of mobile devices, such as Tablet PCs.

This product enables Team GB athletes to collaborate with their support teams worldwide through web-based information and document sharing functionality.
