Launched on December 13th 2006 at Warwick University, XNA has become one of the most talked about new technologies in the UK academic space by enabling the programmer to develop games in less time and by allowing immediate deployment to the Xbox and PC. Academics in universities are signing up to our programme in order to find out the advantages for themselves.
We currently have 30 universities engaged in this programme and recently held our second meeting in Nottingham as part of Gamecity. Participants learned about XNA 2.0, heard from games industry professionals, fellow academics and students, were given extra resources and were invited to a spectacular games party hosted by Rare and the Xbox team.
In the next phase of the programme a forum will be established by the UK XNA User Group and the universities will start to contribute their feedback to this and to the Creators' Club global community.
