At Work Newsletter - Work smarter
Breaking the communications barriers

Effective communication at work is vital in many of our jobs today. Most of the time we talk to people via email or mobile phones, rather than face-to-face, so technology is helping not only the way we work but also how we communicate.

Managing work in teams across the country or the globe can be a real nightmare. So in this issue we will give you ideas on how to manage meetings with people in different locations, using Live Meeting.

Also in this issue, is this your big day to share your ideas or findings with everyone? Need to present your data and figures in a more interesting way to back them up? Find out how you can wow your audience and give your charts some flair, making them more appealing and memorable.

If you have any comments or suggestions for the newsletter, please email us at atworkuk@microsoft.com.

Best wishes
Chris

Readers' Corner
Readers' Corner

I would like to share with you a cool and useful Excel feature I recently stumbled onto by chance.

Whilst working on a project about graphs, I decided to make up individual student reports. Using Excel I designed the report to show project marks.

Once I had prepared the sheets I noticed something I wished to add. Not realising I had selected all the sheets; I set about making the changes.

I then thought I would need to change each page individually. However I was amazed to discover that the change made on the first sheet, had not only copied to all pages but was also highlighted on each one!

Thanks Andy for the great tip.
