Schools
Microsoft technologies and solutions are saving time and helping to raise standards in schools across the world. With the Education Community and Innovative Teachers Programme, teachers can collaborate and share ideas to ease workloads and solve problems.
Further Education
Information and learning technology (ILT) provides greater flexibility for both learners and educators. It widens the choice for learners of when and where they learn, and enables educators to use more engaging teaching techniques. Find out how Microsoft's range of ILT solutions can help your college improve its performance to develop lifelong learning.
Higher Education
Our vision is to enable students and academics to realise their potential through the creation of connected learning communities. A connected learning community attempts to satisfy the diverse needs of everyone involved in education - from university administrators, to research and teaching faculties, to the ultimate beneficiaries, the students.
Free Stuff
There are a range of resources available from Microsoft to support teaching and learning that are free of charge, or are free to use.
In addition to the resources you may already know about – collaboration tools such as Windows Live Messenger and Office Live Workspace – there are a range of additional software programmes, such as Photo Story 3 and Learning Essentials, and services including the Innovative Teachers Network and Windows Live SkyDrive.
Partners in Learning
The Microsoft Partners in Learning initiative supports the dual commitment by Microsoft to advance the quality of education and provide alternative channels for economic progress. By building partnerships with governments and schools around the globe, Partners in Learning works to integrate technology into daily teaching, learning, and research.
Microsoft Live @ Edu
Connect with your students and alumni using email, instant messaging and collaborative services that they already know and love. Microsoft can provide your institution with free email accounts featuring a custom domain name selected by your institution.
The Microsoft Live @ edu programme provides higher and further education institutions with a set of free hosted communication services for students, alumni and applicants.
Although Microsoft hosts the email, your institution maintains control: you continue to create, delete and store .ac.uk email addresses for your students as you do today.
