Order AutoRoute

There are several ways that you can navigate the AutoRoute map to get the view that you need. You can use your mouse, keyboard, and several navigational tools to change the map viewing area as well as the altitude, or zoom level, at which the map is displayed.

Here are some tips for using your AutoRoute map:

Move the map a little

  1. Click and drag the map to move it. The mouse pointer changes to a hand while you move the map.
  2. Click and drag the hand in the direction you want to shift the map.
  3. To stop moving the map, release the mouse button.

Move the map a lot

  1. Move the mouse pointer to the edge of the map window in the direction you want the map to move. The mouse pointer will then turn into a large arrow.
  2. Click and hold the left mouse button to scroll the map in the direction of the arrow.
  3. To stop moving the map, release the mouse button.

Tips

    		•  Move the mouse pointer closer to the centre of the map to slow the movement of the map or farther from the centre to speed it up.
    		• You can drag the pointer around the map pane to change the direction in which the map moves as long as the pointer looks like the large arrow. You can pan 360 degrees east or west.

    Zoom in on a specific area

    There are several ways to zoom in and out:

  • To zoom in, press the = key.
  • To zoom out, press the – key.

  • Double-click anywhere on the map to zoom in on that area.
  • To zoom out, hold down the SHIFT key and double-click within the map area.
  • You can also select an area for zoom. Right-click and hold down, then drag to select the desired area. Then click within the selected area.

  • Click the Zoom Slider buttons to zoom in or out

  • Drag the Zoom Slider to the left (–) to see less detail in a larger region.
  • Drag the Zoom Slider to the right (+) to see more

    Show or hide places on the map

    You can specify which categories of places you want shown on the map and hide places you don’t want displayed.

    1. On the View menu, click Show or Hide Places.
    2. On the Restaurants or Places tab, select the tick box next to each category of restaurant or places you’d like to see on the map.
    3. Click Apply to preview your selections on the map.
    4. Click OK to set the changes.

    Map Tips

    		•  You can zoom in on any place on the map by double-clicking its name on the map.
    		• If you are using a mouse with a middle button or a scroll wheel, you can click and hold the button or wheel to pan.
    		• Move the scroll wheel on the mouse to change the zoom level.
