How to report piracy

Thanks for your interest in reporting piracy. We will investigate any leads you give us. If you have any questions about sending in information and what happens after that, visit our reporting FAQ page.

We really want to stress that any information you can give us is extremely important because of the damage piracy does. First and foremost you'll be helping to stop other customers being ripped off. You'll also stop unscrupulous traders taking business from honest computer shops (often small outfits that can't afford to lose it).

What do I do?

Send your piracy leads, or forward any suspicious emails you've seen to ukpiracy@microsoft.com. Your report will be picked up by a UK-based Intelligence Analyst. If you do send an email, it would be great if you could let us know:

1. when you bought the software you suspect is fake/illegal
2. what it is
3. how much it cost
4. who you bought it from

Alternatively, please use our reporting piracy form. This sits on our corporate site (in the US), but as long as you select the UK in the country dropdown within the form, your information will come back to the UK piracy team.

Whichever route you choose, please bear in mind that the more information we have, the more likely it is we can take action.

Please report piracy now by email or using our form. You can be confident that we'll use the information you give us to stop pirated software from being sold. Learn more about the action we take against illegal traders.
