PowerPoint offers many options for creating dynamic presentations, but some of these options can slow down the performance of the presentation. When speed is your most important consideration, follow these tips for improved performance:
Use simple animations that do not include fading, rotating, or scaling.
Use solid fill colors instead of large gradients or transparent objects.
Reduce the number of simultaneous animations. Try changing the simultaneous animations to sequential animations.
Reduce the number of by-letter and by-word animations. For example, use these only for the title of a slide.
Reduce the resolution of the audience display when using presenter tools.
Reduce the resolution of a picture by using an image editing application (for example, iPhoto) before you add the picture to a presentation.
Reduce the resolution of a movie added to a presentation.
Save presentations in an XML-based file format, such as PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx) or PowerPoint Template (.potx)
