On the View menu, click Publishing Layout.

If you see a message that asks if you want to create a new document in Publishing Layout view, click Continue.

On the Insert menu, click Text Box.

Drag the pointer to create a text box.

Rest the pointer on the text box link handle at the bottom right corner of the text box, click the plus sign , and then draw another text box.

You now have two linked text boxes.

To link additional text boxes, repeat step 4.

On the View menu, click Publishing Layout.

If you see a message that asks if you want to create a new document in Publishing Layout view, click Continue.

Create shapes such as banners or rectangles.

Hold down CONTROL, click a shape, and then click Add Text.

Repeat step 3 for each shape.

Hold down CONTROL, click the shape that you want to be the first in the story, and then click Create Text Box Link.

Click the shape that you want to be next in the story.

The first two shapes are linked.

To link additional shapes, repeat steps 5 and 6, always clicking first on the most recently linked shape.

On the View menu, click Publishing Layout.

If you see a message that asks if you want to create a new document in Publishing Layout view, click Continue.

Double-click the first linked text box or shape.

Enter your text into the text box or shape.

As the text box or shape fills, the text flows into the remaining text boxes or shapes.
