My Entourage 2008 identity does not open in Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition

Cause: Existing identities in Entourage 2008 will not open automatically in Microsoft Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition.

Solution: Import from the existing Entourage 2008 identity.

There is no automatic import or upgrade process from a previous identity in Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition. A user must import from the existing identity.

NoteThe imported identities work only if the Microsoft Exchange Server accounts in the user's Entourage 2008 identity are running Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB952580). The data that is imported includes settings for Exchange Server, IMAP, and Windows Live Hotmail accounts. Data from the Exchange Server synchronizes after Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition, connects to the Exchange server. Data from the IMAP and Windows Live Hotmail servers synchronizes after Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition, connects to the respective IMAP and Windows Live Hotmail servers.

  1. To import the identity, on the File menu, click Import.

  2. Click Entourage information from an archive or earlier version, and then follow the instructions.
