Event Overview

Session 1 - Language Integrated Query (LINQ) in Visual Studio "Orcas"
In this session we'll talk about the headline feature of the forthcoming Visual Studio codenamed "Orcas" - the Language Integrated Query (LINQ) enhancements in the languages and frameworks that provide a rich, productive, maintainable, extensible framework for querying against objects, XML, relational data and other sources. We'll show examples of dealing with XML and relational data and explain how various underpinning language features come together to make this work. If you've not yet got an overview of what LINQ can do for you in its various guises then this is for you.

Session 2 - .NET Framework V3.5 Highlights Tour
In this session, we'll pull out highlights from the forthcoming V3.5 of the .NET Framework that comes with Visual Studio "Orcas" and deliver them in rapid succession, switching speakers in order to provide an introduction to a good number of topics in a short period of time. If the only thing you've come across in "Orcas" so far is LINQ then this slot is for you as we'll flesh out what else to expect when "Orcas" ships and will provide pointers where you can go and find out more on the topics that are most relevant to you.
