Since its introduction at the end of 2006 PowerShell has quickly become the default scripting language for many Microsoft technologies.

This session will be heavy on practical examples and light on slides , and will look at 4 main areas,

  1. Overview of using PowerShell V1 and V2
  2. Products which can be managed with PowerShell today
  3. What’s new and exciting in PowerShell V2
  4. New PowerShell capabilities in Server 2008 R2

We’ll cover the new graphical PowerShell environment, how PowerShell works remotely (and the changes in Server Core for R2 to make it more manageable remotely), and the with R2 introducing PowerShell extensions in a range of areas from Active directory to Web Serving this will give you a chance to see why PowerShell will become a more important skill to have.
