About Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 and Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003

When your trial period ends, you will have the option of converting your trial software to a full or perpetual copy of Microsoft Office by purchasing a conversion key online or buying the product through a participating reseller. You may convert to either Office Standard Edition 2003 or Student and Teacher Edition 2003.

Note  Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 has a restricted licence. Visit the Office 2003 Editions site to see if you qualify for the Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003.

Office Standard Edition 2003 and Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 are similar products, but have different licensing restrictions and prices. The following list helps explain the differences in the products:

After you install your trial, you must activate it online before you can use it. This page walks you through the steps to activate your trial.

Convert Your Trial
When the trial period ends, Office Standard Edition 2003 will go into reduced functionality mode. Learn how you can convert the trial software to the full version of Office Standard Edition 2003 or Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 without removing or reinstalling software on your computer.

Important Notices

If you are using an older version of Microsoft Office (for example, Microsoft Office 97, Microsoft Office 2000, or Microsoft Office XP) and want to return to the previous version after using the Office Standard 2003 trial, you will be required to uninstall the Office 2003 trial and re-install your previous version with your back-up media.

This trial software is intended for evaluation purposes only and is not available on CD.

Microsoft does not provide product support for the Office Standard Edition 2003 60-Day Trial. Online resources are available in the Microsoft Office 2003 Support Center and from other users in Office Newsgroups.

After the trial expires, the software goes into reduced functionality mode. In reduced functionality mode you can continue to view and print files, but you cannot modify existing files or create and save new ones.
