Office Online Beta control

To gain access to the Microsoft Office Online Beta site from a computer other than the one that has the 2007 Microsoft Office system client applications installed, you will need to install the Microsoft Office Online Beta Control.

To install the control

1.

Download AuthInstall.msi.

2.

When prompted, click Open.

3.

On the File Download - Security Warning, click Run.

4.

When the installation finishes, restart Microsoft Internet Explorer.

5.

You will now be able to browse to the Office Online Beta site.

System requirements for the Beta control

Internet Explorer 6.0 or above

Windows 2000, XP or 2003

Administrator privileges on the target computer

Troubleshooting the authorization control

When you add Microsoft Office Online to your list of trusted sites, you allow your browser to download and run ActiveX controls and other files automatically from our Web site. However, adding a Web site as a trusted site can have security implications. For more information, you can read about URL Security Zones.

To add the Office Online Web site to your list of trusted sites

1.

On the Tools menu in Microsoft Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.

2.

Click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click Sites.

3.

Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.

4.

In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type http://officebeta.iponet.net, and then click Add.

5.

Click OK twice.

6.

Click the Retry button above to install the ActiveX control.
