Unfortunately, if we find that your software is not genuine, we won't be able to return it to you or provide you with a refund or other compensation. The team may have to contact Microsoft Corporation in the USA for a definitive opinion, in which case you will be contacted within three working days for an update. This service is not available for obviously fake software, such as gold CDs or the compilation CDs often sold at car boot fairs, internet auction web sites etc. The Microsoft Product Identification team are available to help you identify whether your Microsoft software is genuine (UK customers only).
