Reading – UK – 3rd September 2007 - Just one month after its release, JK Rowling’s final Harry Potter novel,The Deathly Hallows, has got the UK under its spell after being voted the nation’s favourite Potter book in a new poll by MSN Entertainment.
45,000 potty Potter fans cast their votes online at http://entertainment.uk.msn.com and over a third (37%) agreed that Rowling saved the best for last with the final and darkest instalment of the heptalogy, which sees several of the favourite characters come to a sticky end.
Whilst Rowling’s much hyped second novel,Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, may have flown off the shelves faster than a golden snitch, it didn’t score so well with MSN’s Potter fans, coming bottom of the list with just4% of the votes.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the most honoured work in the series, came second in the fantastical list with15% of the votes, followed by the fourth taleHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which was a favourite for one in seven(14%) Potterites.
