Reading – UK – 23rd September 2008
Microsoft Services UK today announced that three of its consultants have been selected as finalists for the 2008 British Computer Society (BCS) IT Awards. Martin Grayson, Giorgio Sardo and Andy Smith, have been shortlisted for the ‘Consultant of the Year’ category because of their relentless focus on their clients to offer them the very best consultancy.
The BCS Awards in association with Intellect showcase the most innovative and professional IT solutions and individuals in conjunction with a wide range of consumer and business applications.
Andrew Reid, Director of Microsoft Services, Microsoft UK said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for three of our consultants to be recognised as amongst the very best in their field. Their nomination is a testimony to the strength of relationship and expertise that Microsoft’s consultants are able to offer their customers, particularly at the CIO level, to help them get the most out of their Microsoft investments in the context of their strategic goals.”
David Clarke, BCS Chief Executive says: “In the current economic situation it is rewarding to see that IT is continuing to lead through innovation and deliver real business benefits. These projects reflect the fact that technology is an integral and expected part of everyday life and is at the heart of literally every business - even farming.” Microsoft Services delivers a range of consultancy services, which offers personalized, long-term advice on how to maximise value from Microsoft technology.
John Higgins, Director General at Intellect says: “Intellect is delighted to be involved with the BCS IT Industry Awards again. Information communication technology improves organisations’ competitiveness and productivity, and helps them meet the needs of their customers more effectively. These awards recognize those technology suppliers, individuals and organisations which do this best. The quality of entries is once again very high and I do not envy the judges their task of identifying the winners - it’s going to be a difficult job.”
The Microsoft finalists will be subject to a panel of judges in October, resulting in a winner and two medalists being selected in each category. The results will be announced at a prestigious black-tie awards ceremony on Thursday 4th December 2008.
