Day 1 Sessions

Plenary - Security in the real world

This session will provide you with an update on Microsoft's drive for Trustworthy Computing and how this important initiative has been progressing and driving change.

Session 1 - Essentials of Security

Session 2 - Implementing Security Patch Management

This session will aim to provide you with the tools to address the perennial challenge of patch management that is being driven by the marked upturn in malicious attacks.

Session 4 - Implementing Client Security on Windows 2000 and Windows XP

In this session you will learn the requirements for securing client computers in environments where Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 servers are present. You will also learn how to implement best practices for clients in extreme high-security environments.

Session 5 - Implementing Network and Perimeter Security

This session will build on existing knowledge of server and client security and show how to apply best practices to implement perimeter and network defences.

Day 2 Sessions

Plenary - Security in the real world... for real business benefits

This session will cover Microsoft's drive for Trustworthy Computing and how this important initiative has been progressing and driving change.

Session 1 - Implementing Application and Data Security

A security strategy for an organisation is most effective when data is protected by more than one layer of security. A defence-in-depth security strategy uses multiple layers of defence. If one layer is compromised, it does not necessarily follow that the security of your entire organisation will be compromised.

Session 2 - Implementing Advanced Server and Client Security

This session will build on existing knowledge of server and client security and receive advanced prescriptive guidance to secure servers and clients in high-security environments.

Session 3 - Applied Security Strategies

This session will build on existing knowledge of server, client and network security and learn practical strategies for implementing security best practices across your IT environment.

Session 4 - Security Risk Management

This session introduces the Security Risk Management Guide, which has been designed by Microsoft to help organisations establish a process for risk assessment, cost benefit analysis, and implementation of security countermeasures.

Session 5 - Wireless Security Let the Nightmare end!

Many people view the task of securing their wireless network as a hugely complex endeavour - it doesn't have to be. This session will look at the easy-to-implement, standards-based approach to high security wireless LANs.
