Small firms using internet to market themselves

The internet is revolutionising the way people conduct business, it has been claimed.
According to the va4growth.com blog, information on practically any subject is available with just a single click of the mouse using the internet, something businesses are increasingly taking advantage of.
The poster Marney said that online shopping has "practically solved the dilemmas" of busy high street shopping, as not only is it possible to search for any conceivable product but prices can also be compared quickly and easily.
He added: "With internet marketing, business owners and managers can reach their target markets without the need to face the customer personally or spend too much money on advertisements. All they have to do is take advantage of the wide reach of the internet."
With search engine optimisation helping firms to attract visitors to their increasingly professional websites, web advertising is a growing market, it is claimed.
Marney stated: "Your website must be able to appear on top of the list to the users when they need your products and services. And internet marketing can help you do that by generating more traffic into your website."
Last month, PC World's chief information officer Steve Adams claimed small businesses can reduce costs by switching from direct mail to email in their marketing campaigns.
